The Hands of Christ in the heart of Lacey
On Wednesday mornings we have an adult Formation group that meets to discuss various books and delves deeper into the subject of faith. This same class is also offered every other Wednesday night for people who cannot attend the morning classes.
We also have a Growing in Christ class for people curious and/or thinking about becoming baptized, renewing baptismal vows, confirmation, reception and reaffirmation. The schedule for these classes are as follows:
November 11: Renunciations and Affirmations of our Baptism. From the earliest days of the Church, the candidates for Holy Baptism turned away from evil and choose Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. What does that mean for us today? What is evil and Who is this Jesus Christ that is our Lord and Savior?
November 18: Putting on Christ. The earliest Bishops said that in Baptism we put on Christ like a garment. What does it mean for us to Put on Christ in our life?
November 25: Images of God What Images of God do you hold in your heart mind and imagination? Father? Mother? God who is a crag and a stronghold, a castle. God who is like a mother hen that draws her children to her. Why are these images of God important?
December 2-16: My Story, THE Story. How does my own personal story of my life connect to this bigger story of Jesus Christ and to this thing we call Salvation History? Come and find out!
December 23: Come to the Manger! Our group this week will “play” at the Manger, reading a very funny Christmas play.
December 30: No Class this week.
Growing in Christ is held after the
10 a.m. Service
