Saint Benedict

To Pledge or Not to Pledge

Thank all of you for your generous giving to St. Benedict. Our budget not only covers the basic operations (church services, staffing and church maintenance) but many wonderful outreach programs, such as Feed the Hungry and Adopt a Family. We decide on important work that is needed for our community and we determine how to fund it (pledges, plate offerings, or special fundraising).

If you are a newcomer to St. Benedict, you can just send a note to the Treasurer as to the amount you would like to pledge for the remainder of the year and how you plan to give (weekly, monthly, or lump sum). Please provide your name (printed), phone number, email address (if you have one) and mailing address (so we can send you an annual giving statement for your records).

Many individuals “pledge” the amount of money they plan to be give to St. Benedict. Others give regularly as a plate offering but do not “pledge”. Please consider pledging. A pledge helps St. Benedict plan beyond the basic operations.

Here are some factors for you to consider about pledging:

1. Your pledge is kept confidential.

2. You can pledge on a weekly, monthly, or lump sum basis.

3.  A few individuals pledge a lower amount but give extra as their finances allow.

4. You can change your pledge at any time during the year.

If your finances or budget change during the year, you can decrease (or increase) your pledge immediately. All you need to do is contact the Treasurer (Collie Liska) or the Recording Clerk (Linda Jekel) as to the amount of the change.

You can cancel your pledge at any time during the year. Again, just contact the Treasurer or Recording Clerk that you are canceling your pledge for the rest of the year.

Our pledge drive for 2009 will start in fall 2008. If you have suggestions to help our fall pledge drive be successful, please do not hesitate to send your ideas. You can contact members of the Bishop’s Committee, the Finance Committee, or just call the office.
