Content: history of St. Benedict Church and the Episcopal Church, reflecting on the three legged stool of Anglicanism: Scripture, Tradition and Reason. We also explore the lived experience of faith.
Reflecting on our faith walk, we will have some quiet time after our session to reflect on our time together and to discern whether we are called to continue in the Journey process.
(Scheduled as needed throughout the year as well) at the 10:30 am Eucharist.This Rite marks the formal beginning of the journey leading to the possibility of Baptism.
Content: the Stories of scripture, prayer, reflection on salvation history, the image of God, reflections on the promises we make at baptism.
Quiet Evening: A reflection on the Lenten Journey a simple soup dinner and discussion on Lent.
First Sunday in Lent. This rite marks the Catechumen’s intention and desire to receive the sacrament of initiation and the request for continued support from God and the faith community.
Content: reading and reflection on the Gospel, pondering the gifts of the Christian faith and life. Each Sunday in Lent, the Catechumen come forward to receive prayers from the community and during communion portion of the liturgy, they will receive salt as a reminder of their fast and also to represent their thirsting for God in Lent.
A time to focus on Holy Week and our own spiritual journey to the cross and Baptism and beyond.
Content: a time to reflect on the journey, a time to focus on living out the Christian life through one’s own gifts and ministries to the church and the world.
Celebration of the Fullness of the Corporate Life and Witness of the Church as we are sent out by the Holy Spirit for Evangelism and service.
