The Hands of Christ in the heart of Lacey
I was baptized in the Roman Catholic church in Pullman when I was 24. In 1963 shortly after I was baptized and I married a gal from Tacoma. Sharon and I had two wonderful and loving boys. Todd is 42 and single. Darin is married to Kristen and they have two children – Kiana and Tanner.
In 1982 Sharon and I divorced. I met Gen through mutual friends and the rest is history – sort of!! Shortly after we were married in January, 1983, I was received into the Episcopal Church and confirmed by Bishop Cochrane at St. Andrew’s Tacoma. I became involved by serving a term on the vestry at St. Andrew’s. In 1995 we moved to Chehalis and attended Epiphany, now St. Timothy’s. I served on the Vestry in Chehalis as well.
Gen is a cradle Episcopalian. She was ordained deacon in June 2000. What a blessing for us! Moving along as it were, we landed at St. Benedict’s and were greeted by a family just as loving and more. I have been so touched by the people I consider my brothers and sisters in Christ. I see Jesus in everyone’s eyes here.
I am currently on the Bishop’s Committee at St. Benedict’s. I also am a part of the Building and Grounds Committee and help wherever else I am needed. I feel so blessed to be part of the St. Benedict’s community.
In Christ,
Gary Grewell
