“Call To Action is an organization of Catholics based on the teaching of the universal church in the second half of the 20th Century. It is a response to the challenge of the Second Vatican Council, held between 1962 and 1965, for all members to "scrutinize the signs of the times" and respond in the light of the gospel. The council provided a wake-up call for lay Catholics who had tended to defer initiatives entirely to the clergy”, taken from the Call to Action webpage. More

One hundred members of the chorus will sing in the concert, which is free by donation. Doors will open at 2:30 pm. A “Far Away Places” medley will include familiar songs on Paris, London, Dublin, Italy, Switzerland and other popular destinations. Another feature will be a new setting of Robert Frost’s “The Road Not Taken.” For a change of pace, artistic director Dennis Coleman will conduct Captain Smartypants, an ensemble within the chorus, in an original comedic piece, “All the Cheeses of the World.” Interspersed with the music will be observations by Steves, who has become an audience favorite for his poignant remarks about travel, based on years of taking Americans to “Europe Through the Back Door.”
